Since 2020, MMXX has served as a retraining and adoption program for retired Standardbred race horses transitioning into horse showing careers in North America. Starting with just two horses, one a 308-start veteran, and one a kill pen rescue, quickly we identified an unmet need for the breed: a new market. Since then, it is our mission to create a market for these wonderful athletes in the show ring - the largest commercial transaction pool for equines in North America - to reduce slaughter pipeline traffic.
Today, MMXX supports 1) racing connections place their athletes into suitable, sustainable second careers, 2) riding connections train and dial-in their athletes to secure blue ribbons against any breed of competitor, and 3) Standardbred enthusiasts become involved with Standardbreds in racing, or riding capacities. MMXX also operates a National show team of Standardbred athletes and riders.
